Who says the end of civilization has to be totally drab? Dave DeGobbi’s massive eco-punk crawler city brightens up the post-apocalypse, looking like a Mardi Gras float designed by Master Blaster himself.
Its started out as going to be a steam-punk land dreadnought/battleship but evolved into a roaming city where self sustainability and Eco efficiency became the theme. I ended up calling it “Eco-punk” due to its Steamy inspired roots.

Now I want to build my own LEGO city of future – maybe some sort of scale model of an arcology…
Obviously, this is going to take a lot of legos to build – so if you have any sitting around gathering dust, let me know…
And Legos are not the only toys being used to enact visions of future urban environments: Marc Gauthier » Blog Archive » Simcity + Arcology
this is some really interesting artwork
Thanks. I really like the creative way that guy worked with Legos. In general, I think a lot of people are doing interesting things these days with existing stuff – trash, junk, found objects, toys, etc. – remaking them artistically. For a while now people have been recreating Barbies and GI Joe dolls in new ways, and I often like that, but using Legos in this way… Well, it’s just very cool. Especially for those of us who grew up playing with Legos. I also read a book – fiction – recently in which the main character, a real geek/nerd type, but cool, has made himself a desk entirely from Legos. I want that desk.
